What are Threads?
Ready to explore the world of the latest sale? Let's move on to reading about Threads. What is it? Since its launch on July 6, 2023, Threads has been a trending word. The fact that 7 million users already registered on this new social network made it even more popular. In less than two hours, it achieved the podium of being the application.
In this exciting time of trending activity, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg exclaimed, "Threads has gained 10 million active users in just the first 7 hours!" Amazing, isn't it?
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, threatened to sue Meta for using Twitter trade secrets to create their app. He wrote, "It is better to be attacked by strangers on Twitter than to indulge in false happiness that hides pain" on Instagram.
A thread developed on July 6th has sparked curiosity and concern among users about its impact in the digital field.
And I know you saw it in the hundreds of stories from your followers and brands, recording the moment they created their first thread and shared it on Instagram.
All crazy! Let's put aside the controversy and tension between these tycoons and learn about threads. In the field of technology or programming, threads are basic units of execution within a system. They are small subsets that can perform tasks independently.
The main purpose of threads is to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of applications.
Threads are often used for interactive applications like Twitter. #socialmedia #interactivity #communication
Companies use threads due to numerous optimizations and improvements in thread management over time.
Can you tell me about how Threads was created?
Threads is a microblogging social network created by Meta, linked to Instagram. It is available for download on Apple App Store and Google Play Store in over 100 countries.
Threads is an Instagram app where you can post threads (Thread), reply to others, and follow internet accounts.
Threads in this app can contain texts, links, images, and videos for real-time public conversations.
The creation of this platform was developed under "the idea of building an open and friendly space for communities...", Adam Mosseri, director of Instagram.
One of Meta team and Instagram's goals for Thread is to allow it to work seamlessly with multiple applications, which could attract content creators starting from scratch with new accounts and follower counts.
The application allows the audience to discuss topics and connect with content creators and public figures.
How Threads Works…
You can create posts up to 500 characters on this social network and add images or videos.
Here, you can share it on your Instagram profile, which allows for great interaction with the community.
When you download the application, it immediately transports you to an easy-to-use platform where you can thread your personal data from Instagram and customize it.
Similarly, you can choose to adjust your profile's privacy settings and sync your followers from Instagram.
Your Instagram followers who follow the "Threars" profile can see and comment on your posts in their feeds.
Data from your Instagram account that may be used for Threads includes your name, username, identifier, followers, accounts you follow, and the link to the Threads account displayed on your profile.
What does Threads promise?
Unlike other social networks, this platform is decentralized and allows users to connect across various platforms.
Users could soon view feed publications chronologically like Instagram and Facebook, a feature Twitter lacks.
The creators of this platform aim to facilitate the sharing of short texts for thoughts, routines, or writings.
The most notable feature is the ability to share posts directly to Instagram stories.
Meta plans to integrate Threads into the fediverse, a network of interconnected social platforms managed by third parties.
Start a thread (Threads), it's very simple, it's something you write and it appears on your profile. However, you should keep the following in mind:
If you delete a thread after someone has replied, their response will not be deleted. It's important to properly configure your account's privacy settings.
If you reply to a thread where someone has a private profile that you don't follow, you won't be able to see your reply. Your publications must comply with Meta's policies, particularly regarding musical content.
If you plan to publish branded content on Threads, remember to disclose paid collaborations in your post or promotion since the platform doesn't have the same tool as Instagram.
Currently, there is no desktop version available. You can only access the profiles of your followers and review their publications from the web.
Can you explain the similarities and differences between this and Twitter?
Although I am new to this network, it shares some similarities with Twitter. However, after doing some research, I have also found some differences.
similarities
-Users can post text and multimedia messages in a channel dropdown, making navigation and interface easier.
-The profiles of other states are visible..
-To respond to status in a more organized way, you can reply in the form of a thread..
-The icons representing the Like, Share, Send, and Reply buttons are quite similar.
differences
-Threads contains 500 characters which surpasses the 280 allowed on Twitter.
-At this time, Threads does not have the capability for direct messaging.
Although it is a separate application, it has the capability to be connected directly to an Instagram account.
Twitter's navigation has multiple tabs including For You and Following, whereas Threads only has one tab.
Shall we go over the downsides of this application?
-The application's news feed lacks tags and editing capabilities for new messages. Some regions experienced download issues during initial release, and it is not yet available in Europe.
Although some people refer to this app as Twitter's rival, the real competition is between the two CEOs, causing controversy in the media and digital sphere.
Possibly, it is Twitter's future competition (which annoys Elon Musk for good reason).
What is the optimal number of threads for optimal performance? Let's find the right balance.
Currently, this network can help your business connect with new customers, build communities, sell products/services, and monitor your competition from a brand perspective.
At the beginning, I mentioned that providing strategies or actions to strengthen your company in this application may be hasty, as it has just been launched and may just be a passing trend.
For general information about threading in applications and optimal thread count, check out the following:
- Synchronization can be 🏋️♂️ performance-intensive since 🗣️ communication and 💾 data flow between threads can cause process overload and blockage.
- A recent study by the Wall Street Journal found that daily active users on this new social network have declined by 70%.
- Moreover, the time spent on the platform and the app's inactivity have decreased.
Instagram managers have hinted at upcoming features. 🤔 It's illogical to discuss a strategy or frequency if Instagram isn't your primary marketing channel. 🤷♀️
If your goal is not to generate traffic, leads, or sales through social media, specifically Instagram, then don't feel pressured to use it as a marketing tool. 💼📈💰
Incorporate some emojis into the text above in relevant places. Do not change the words in the text in any way; just insert the emojis. 😊👍
What do you think about the application? 🤔 It follows the saying "what goes up must come down." ⬆️⬇️
I will be signing off shortly. 👋
