Unmissable SEO Tips for Content

You are beginning to read an article that applied all the recommendations of its promise: Unmissable SEO tips for content...

…And surely that is why you are reading it today. We did it!

When we write an article, many times we let ourselves be carried away by the inspiration of the moment, the ideas and the words flow and flow. Still, don't worry, it's not bad! Because even if we talk about unmissable SEO tips for content, we must not forget that at the end of the day you write for humans, you write for your users and not purely to seek the approval of a search engine like Google.

Let's start with something.

Why apply SEO for content?

Well, it's time for honesty, and raise your hand who doesn't long to be at the top of Google? (I have it raised).

Sometimes it can surprise us when we have spent significant time writing our article, but after much effort we have forgotten content in the Google graveyard (from the second page onwards) and that is what we do not want.

Apart from writing, we must add a very important factor that is like an enhancer of our article, that's what I call it, and it is basically writing taking into account some requirements or conditions that the search engines demand of us so that they fulfill their promise.

Does Google read content like humans?

Hmm, the answer is no. Google is not a human or does not have a bunch of humans in an office reading new content all day. Google works through algorithms and to read our content it does so through the structure that, behind how beautiful it looks on our blog, is made up of tags, which is the language that Google reads.

So, understanding this, we are going to start with today's menu: Unmissable SEO tips for content.

Keyword or Keyword: The darling of our article for SEO

Before starting to write, you should have done your keyword research to bring the chosen one. It is important that you take that one according to its search volume and level of competition based on your objective.

Do not forget about the secondary keywords in your article and also try to use synonyms so as not to overload the term.

Keep in mind that it is recommended that of all your article, the density of your keyword is between 1% and 2%. We are not going to exaggerate either, calm down!

There are different types of keyword. On this occasion, I will focus only by type of extension, that is, how many words it is composed of.

We have long or short, or by their original name, long tail keywords or short keywords.

The long tail, normally have low or little competition and is how the user normally expresses himself in the search engine, since they have more than four words.

On the other hand, the short keywords only have a word or two; its level of competition is higher because it is more generic.

Article title

Very important! And it has some conditions:

  • Includes the keyword.
  • Make it attractive and between 50 and 55 characters long.

Headers or titles and subtitles

I think this is very Latino. But do you remember in school that the teachers made us write the paragraph with one color and the headings and subheadings with another color?… Well, something similar works here.

These tags, which are called <h1> behind, for example, are very important for the SEO positioning of your content.

We have <h1>, being the most important, to <h6>, being the least.

Notice that in the next section, where I will talk about paragraphs, I apply heading 2 and heading 3.

Paragraphs

Inside the paragraphs is where our entire body of content is.

But we have the following tips:

Readability

  • Try not to use more than 25 words per sentence. In Spanish it is complicated, but let's try to simplify. Of course, if we are not given, there is no problem. It is also not a mandatory topic.
  • If you want to highlight something within the paragraph, use bold to help your user capture attention.

Article Length

The minimum is to write an article of 300 words, but ideally it should be more than 1,000 or 2,500. The reason? They are more likely to have better positions.

lists

I have already applied it in the previous points, but if we are going to deal with a topic that deserves to list the idea in several sections, the ideal is to use bullets or numbering.

Images

Reading and reading sometimes needs a visual break, even if you are applying everything that has been said. But, putting one or another image between paragraphs or between titles is very helpful.

eye! It is not just about adding the image and that's it, because Google cannot read the image like a human, that is, it does not see it, it will only read it.

So we must give this image a name, within a tag it is called <alt>, which is basically an alternative text.

Give a description, but brief.

Meta description

This is the first information that Google visitors read before clicking on your blog, that is, it is like an appetizer of what they will find.

The structure of a meta description is:

  1. Title: Include the title or the simple version of the title of your article, a separator and the name of your company.
  2. URL or slug: include the keyword and separate each-word-with-this-hyphen-. Keep it short.
  3. Description: Make it attractive, relevant and indicates the ultimate promise. Ideal if you add some emojis and a call to action.

Soooo! This is all. I invite you now to go to your CMS (I use wordpress) and apply each of these unmissable SEO tips for content and see the results.
